Author Nancy Hartney to Speak in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
Short story author of “If the Creek Don’t Rise: Tales from the South,” speaks at the Tahlequah Writers monthly meeting June 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Spider Gallery, Cherokee Arts Center. Nancy Hartney will discuss the use of regions and geography in storytelling.
“If the Creek Don’t Rise” is her second collection of short stories featuring hard-used characters, tangled relationships, family angst, and fortitude. Her first collection, “Washed in the Water: Tales from the South,” won the Best Book of Fiction 2014 and the President’s Award from the Ozarks Writers League.She is currently working on a novel.
