The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is located in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It opened for its first writers in 2000 and now offers eight private writing suites in two side-by-side houses, with residencies lasting from one week up to three months. There’s always something cool going on there.
Cooking with Jana December 11, 2020
The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) is proud to present “Cooking with Jana,” a festive, virtual, holiday fundraiser. Part interactive cooking show, part holiday party, all fun, and brought to you live from the Dairy Hollow kitchen at 6:30 pm CST on Friday, December 11, 2020. The suggested donation for the event is $20, but any amount will be greatly appreciated. All registrants for the event will be sent a Zoom link and Jana’s recipe. Register here.
Humor Me: A Funny Writer’s Fellowship Submission Window Opens December 1, 2020
This fellowship is open to poets, fiction writers, playwrights, essayists, columnists, memoirists, and screenwriters who use humor as a key element in their work. While the humor may range from wry to screwball, the work should demonstrate literary merit and the promise of publication, or in the case of theater and film, production.
Fellowship applications must be accompanied by a writing sample and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Only one writing project may be proposed per application. The submission period opens on Tuesday, December 1. Deadline is midnight on Monday, February 22, 2021. The winner will be announced no later than March 10, 2021. Residency must be completed by March 31, 2022. Exceptions will be made for COVID-19 concerns. Obtain an application form here.
