February Events for Writers

Monday, February 9 at 1 p.m. – Author Phyllis Gruetzmacher will be presenting a special Writers Workshop at the Bentonville Public Library on Monday, February 9 entitled “Write What you Know.” Writers that are interested in nonfiction, memoirs, and biographies will find this workshop very beneficial. Learn helpful strategies for writing your life story, or perhaps the stories of your loved ones!

Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. – As part of a continuing effort to provide the community with intriguing and educational opportunities, the Bentonville Public Library will be hosting a reading by local author/poet Hilda Gurley-Highgate. Not only will Ms Gurley-Highgate be reading from her own novel, Sapphire’s Grave, but she will be describing the writing process and her own efforts to produce this lyrical novel.

Maeve Maddox writes about popular culture, English usage, and education. Her most recent books are WORD RAGE, a guide to peaceful coexistence as American English-speakers, and THE FABERGE FLUTE, a cozy mystery set in 1980s London.
