Illuminating Black Lives Fellowship Extended into November
Good news for November– the submission due date for the Illuminating Black Lives fellowship has been extended to Monday, November 30. The winner will be announced by Friday, December 18.
Writers are invited to explore the African-American experience via any literary genre: fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, or a combination. It may take place now or in the past. It may draw upon the life of the author or probe other lives. There is no expectation of a certain attitude or type of experience. Rather, the successful application will demonstrate insight, honesty, literary merit, and the likelihood of publication.
The fellowship winner will receive a two-week residency to allow the recipient to focus completely on their work. A writing sample and non-refundable $35 application fee must accompany the application. Need more information? See Illuminating Black Lives at the Dairy Hollow website for application form and further details.
