Phil Slattery (see his bio in the Writers Directory ) is forming a Writers Circle in Arkansas County.

The chief purpose of the new Writers Circle will be to focus on the marketing and publicizing of members’ works. Members will be invited to read from their works.  The writing craft and the business of getting published will also be discussed.

Nascent and established writers of any and all genres are welcome to join. This includes anyone who writes in any form, whether it be fiction, non-fiction, journalism, poetry, comic books, graphic novels, or any of the other types of writing that exist.

If you are interested or know writers who would be interested, please let Phil know by emailing him at philslattery87410@gmail.com. Please contact him at the same email with any questions you might have.

There will be no members’ fees. Anyone within or outside Arkansas is welcome to join. No established meeting place or schedule has been decided on. One possibility is the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm, in DeWitt or Stuttgart.

The meetings will start with a half-hour reading by one of the members from his/her own works and then will break into a general discussion of members’ marketing and publicity strategies and experiences.  Phil is open to suggestions for a meeting place as he is still new to the area.

A website is in development.

Phil Slattery previously formed a Writers Circle in Farmington, New Mexico, in 2015, which is still going strong today. Visit their website at  https://farmingtonwriterscircle.wordpress.com/ for more information.
