Ozarks Writers League Conference August 18-19 in Missouri
The Ozarks Writers League fall conference is planned in Branson, Missouri for August 18-19, 2017 at the Honeysuckle Inn. The conference begins the evening of August 18 with open-mike readings, dinner, and networking. August 19 is a full day of panel discussions, industry presentations, book tables/book sales, craft talks, and lunch.
Agent Gina Panettieri, Talcott Notch Literary Agency, discusses “New Publishing and Publicity Trends.” Senior editor Anna Michels, Straight from the Source, presents “What Editors are Looking for in Today’s Fiction and Nonfiction Markets” followed by a craft discussion with author and artist Rochell Wisoff-Fields, “Using Flash Fiction as a Tool.”
Deadline for writing contests is August 31. Art and photography submissions are entered, judged and awarded during the August meeting.
OWL meets quarterly to offer regional writers networking opportunities, contests, agent or publisher pitch sessions, and industry presentations on writerly trends. Participants are drawn from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
