Planning the Cozy Mystery

If you’re a fan of the cozy mystery, it may be that you’ve thought of trying your own hand at writing one.
Your chance to shake out your ideas is a two-session OLLI course, Planning the Cozy Mystery, which meets from 10 to noon on Monday, May 13, and Monday, May 20 at the University of Arkansas Uptown Campus Building West (UPTW), 1001 E. Sain Avenue in Fayetteville (down in the dip near Panera Bread).
On the first Monday, participants will define the cozy mystery genre, discuss its elements as handled by various authors, and brainstorm the characteristics of the ideal cozy sleuth. The second session will focus on the creation of supporting characters, setting, and plot.
The course will be taught by Dr. M. J. Maddox, aka Maeve Maddox, whose published work includes both fiction and nonfiction. She is the author of the cozy mystery, The Fabergé Flute.
Tuition: $35 OLLI Member
$50 non-OLLI Member
