The Inaugural meeting for a new poetry group will take place on Wednesday, October 10, at 6 p.m. at Nightbird Books, 205 W. Dickson St., in Fayetteville. The purpose of the group is to read and discuss recently published books of poetry. The first book, Best American Poetry of 2012 edited by Mark Doty, may be purchased at the first meeting. Group members are asked to support  Nightbird by purchasing their books there.

At the first meeting, participants will determine the time and frequency of future meetings, probably weekly during October and monthly after that. Future book choices will be determined by participants. Initial meetings will be facilitated by poetry scholar and enthusiast, Linda Leavell. For further information or to receive future emails about the Poetry Book Club, please email linda.leavell at me.com.
