Rogers Author Publishes First Novel
Rogers writer Joe DeRouen has published Small Things, the story of Shawn Spencer, a teen in a small midwestern town who must come to grips with the death of his best friend Tanner. Although officially ruled an accidental drowning, Tanner’s death raises questions in the mind of his sister Jenny. She swears she saw something rise up from Carthage Lake to pull the struggling teenager beneath the surface.
A native of Carthage, Illinois, Joe DeRouen lives in Rogers, Arkansas with his artist wife Andee and their son Fletcher. Small Things is his first novel and the first book in a trilogy. The second volume, Threads, will be published later this year.
