Some Lucky Writer with Young Children Will Win Time To Write at Dairy Hollow

For writers who are also parents of young children, finding time to write can a daunting challenge.

In an effort to help such writers find some undisturbed writing time, the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is offering the My Time Fellowship, funded by the Sustainable Arts Foundation.

Writers who are parents of dependent children under the age of 18 are invited to apply.  Work may be any literary genre.

The fellowship winner will receive a one-week residency to allow the recipient to focus completely on their work. A $400 stipend is available to cover childcare and/or travel costs.  Each writers’ suite has a bedroom, private bathroom, separate writing space, and wireless internet. To ensure uninterrupted writing time, dinner is prepared five nights a week, and served in the community dining room. For other meals, the community kitchen is stocked with the basics for breakfast and lunch.

Fellowship applications must be accompanied by a writing sample and a non-refundable $35 application fee. There is a limit of one submission per application. The submission period opened on Tuesday, December 15. The deadline is midnight on Monday, March 15, 2021. The winner will be announced no later than March 31, 2021. Residency may be completed at any time during 2021. This may be extended up to twelve months for extenuating circumstances including COVID-19 concerns. Apply here.

Local writers are welcome to submit promotional news releases about themselves, their critique groups, and any other writing-related activities of interest to writers in Arkansas and the neighboring states. Submission Guidelines:
