 Researching Fiction with Veda Boyd Jones

Cost: Free, via Zoom

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2020, 7 pm

Content: Jones will speak on how to research for fiction, both historical and contemporary, citing examples from her work, such as spending days at a TV station and attending the citizens police academy. Questions will be welcome.

How to participate: Participants can join from smart phone, computer, or tablet. First-time Zoom-users simply sign up for Zoom, follow the prompts and allow the app to access camera and microphone. On the day of the lecture, join with the following information:

Write Like an Actor Workshop

Sponsor: Baxter County Library

Teacher: Stephanie Storey, auhor, Oil and Marble

Date: Wednesday, October 28, 9 am.

Cost: Free, Zoom link on the calendar on the Baxter Library site

Content: short lectures and writing prompts. Exercises to write better dialogue, get in touch with characters’ emotion, develop strong points of view, and choose specific and important character details.
