TRUE LIT FESTIVAL 2019

The Fayetteville Library’s seventh annual True Lit Festival 2019 got underway on Sunday, October 20 with Melanie Benjamin’s talk, “Shining a Light on the Past.”

The Festival will run through Sunday, October 27.

This year, local authors have the opportunity to pitch their books to representatives of three publishers and two literary agencies.

Keynote speaker Gene Luen Yank will present a public lecture on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 pm in the library’s Walker Community Room.

Yang will discuss the importance of narratives that convey a multitude of cultural experiences.

On Tuesday, October 22 at 6 pm, author and illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka will lead an illustrator workshop focusing on techniques such as character expression, perspective, shadow, and gesture. The workshop is intended for illustrators 14 and up. Registration is required.
