Barbara Youree, author of thirteen books, will discuss the situation in the world’s newest country at the Februrary 28 luncheon meeting of the Benton County Democrats at the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center at 211 SE Walton Blvd. in Bentonville, west of I-540.

Courageous Journey tells the story of two Sudanese refugees whom Youree met in a mentorship program in Kansas City and who, ten  years later, maintain a warm relationship with the woman they call “Mom Barbara.” Now in their first semester of graduate school, studying law, Beny and Ayuel, orphaned at the age of eight, travelled to Omaha last month to vote for the independence of Southern Sudan.
